I have learned

I guess I will be endlessly adding to this list.  That is a good thing, right?  I am supposed to learn something every day, but there are days when I would like to just "be" and not take anything in.  However, I know better, so...I have learned

1. that there are messages in dreams
2. that forgiveness is the hardest thing for me to give
3. that everything happens for a reason (right, Mom?)
4. that nothing has to be fixed today
5. that there is such a thing as love at first sight
6. that babies each have their own special smell
7. that "church" is often the gathering place of hypocrites
8. that sometimes there is more wisdom in a 6 year old than a 60 year old
9. that we reap what we sow
10. that life is about change
11. that when someone shows you who they are, believe them
12. that ill-gotten gain can come to no good
13. that we are all fighting a hard battle
14. that parents are sending the best they have; they aren't keeping the better ones for themselves
15. that we cannot look back because something might be gaining on us
16. that it is only with the heart that one can see rightly
17. that white towels are best
18. that, most of the time, you get what you pay for
19. that we really do need a bucket list
20. that travel is not for retirees; do it now
21. that the warmth of a child's hand can be enough to make us come back to life
